My name is Braden Vowles, and I am a CG Animator, graphic designer, and artist originally from Victoria, BC. I currently live in Kelowna, BC, where I went to Centre for Arts and Technology to study 3D Animation.
I'm an Organized and detail-oriented professional with 2 years experience in industry standard CG programs such as Autodesk Maya, Z-Brush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine, and over 6 years experience with Adobe programs such as Photoshop, and Premiere. I am Adept at working independently, and collaboratively on projects to achieve visual innovation.
Aside from being passionate about animation, I also love comics and storytelling. Since 2015, I have been working towards creating my own universe of comic book characters. I have written scripts, drawn storyboards, concept art, character designs, and even went as far as creating a personal binder full of history, maps, timelines, as well as information on characters, species, and planets. Needless to say, my ambition, and drive for success is quite high.
I have shown some of this work to various people within the industry, such as John Gallagher (Production Illustrator on The Flash TV Show), Fadi Hakim (CEO of Canada's Chapterhouse Comics), and Managers from several of Vancouver Island's Curious Comics Stores. All were fascinated by what I had to show, with Curious Comics even offering to put my books on their shelves when ready.
My experience as a freelance artist has also been able to grow. One job was designing and illustrating album covers, and event posters for a band based in Victoria BC. Another Job was designing and illustrating a children's coloring book for the Victoria Shriner Association. More recently, I used my graphic design skills to re-format some Word templates for a local construction company, and built a website for a vehicle repair company.
My goal is to work in a studio, make connections, climb up the ladder into a leadership position, and gain valuable industry experience.
